CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Dr. Frank E. Willard celebrated his 103rd birthday on Thursday, June 11.

Since COVID-19 and social distancing made throwing a party risky, Dr. Willard’s friends and family organized a drive-by parade in front of his house. Local first responders even joined in, driving by with ambulances and fire engines.

Dr. Willard served in Patton’s Third Army from shortly after D-Day until the end of WWII on May 8, 1945. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his service.

After returning home, Dr. Willard retired from the Army as a Lt. Colonel and taught Military Science and History at Eastern KY College. He later earned his degree in dentistry at UT Memphis and opened a practice in Clarksville

Dr Willard is a member of the Kiwanis Club and is very proud of his 38 years of perfect attendance.

“”If it is worth doing at all, it is worth doing well. That’s my motto,” said Dr. Willard.
