CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Clarksville Women Veterans of America Chapter 47 is planning a bus trip to participate in the Women in Military Service for America (WIMSA) 20th anniversary ceremony activities in Washington D.C.

The trip is from October 19-22 and local women veterans are encouraged to sign up. The organization is also accepting donations and sponsors from individuals and businesses in the community.

Teresa English, Vice Commander for the chapter talked about the trip. “We are very excited about taking women veterans from the Clarksville-Nashville area to the WIMSA 20th anniversary. We think it’s important for the women veterans in the area to go to the memorial,” said English.

English added that it’s important for women veterans to witness the memorial in person to have their history recorded so their families can visit in the future and be able to see their legacy and the sacrifices women veterans have made.

All women veterans are invited. You do not have to be a member of Clarksville Women Veterans of America chapter to attend the ceremony.

Donations can be made through Women Veterans of America Chapter 47, P.O. Box 31291, Clarksville, TN. 37040.
