CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Warrants and Sexual Offender Unit recently worked with local and state agencies to arrest suspects with outstanding family violence warrants.
Locally the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) partnered with Austin Peay State University’s Police Department and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Unit. They attempted to serve 65 warrants and successfully made 14 arrests.
Operation Accountability, which occurred on Wednesday, October 18, 2018, was part of the 16th Annual National Family Violence Apprehension Detail.
Over 200 law enforcement agencies from across the nation participated in the initiative. All agencies served outstanding warrants with charges ranging from harassment to murder.
“The collaborative effort helps raise awareness of domestic violence in our communities,” said Sandra Brandon, Public Information Officer for MCSO. “It also helps demonstrate to offenders that they will be held accountable for the actions.”
