CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- (CLARKSVILLENOW) A Clarksville photographer is offering free sessions for breast cancer fighters and survivors with their families.
Rafael Rios began his photography career in 2015 after his wife purchased his first camera for him. He became passionate about offering these sessions because his mother-in-law is a breast cancer survivor.
“I’ve had love ones die from this horrible cause and to honor them I decided to give all breast cancer survivors and fighters a chance to tell their story and encourage others to fight and stay strong with a free photo shoot,” Rios said.
He said the session includes about 100 group photos with loved ones or the support system of the breast cancer survivor or fighter. Rios also likes to take two or three photos from the session to create blog posts about breast cancer awareness, which he sends to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Rios was able to organize two different shoots for breast cancer fighters in 2016 and 2017 and wants to organize another one here in Clarksville. He hopes that this photo shoot will lead to community support for those who are dealing with breast cancer.
“If they see these photos, cheer them on,” he said. “Donate when it’s necessary for them to be able to fight. With the Clarksville community helping out and being a part of this amazing awareness group, it’s going to be epic.”
Rios encourages anyone interested in the sessions to contact him through his Facebook page.
