CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A local pastor has created signs to remind the community about the reason for the season.
WKRN News 2 reports that Pastor Jimmy Terry of Tabernacle Baptist Church has purchased 10,000 yard signs at $3 each reading “Christmas is all about Jesus” to be placed in yards across Clarksville.
He and his wife are giving $1,000 for the signs but are relying on churches and individuals to help pay the rest of the $30,000 cost.
Terry said he got the idea for the signs from the past election.
“You have National Ice Cream Month, National Pet Month, Black History Month, but we give Jesus only one day in December,” he said. “I don’t think we should do that. I think we can do better.”
Terry said he places the signs “wherever it is legal” and asks homeowners for permission before placing signs in their yards.
