CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – As temperatures begin to drop and winter draws near, a local ministry is offering free winter vehicle inspections to the people of Clarksville.

Faith Mission Ministries Inc of Clarksville will host their 11th annual free inspection day on November 2. The event will be held at the church, 1215 Fort Campbell Boulevard #B. They will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until all the cars have been inspected. Last year the event serviced approximately 27 vehicles.

This is a free service offered by the church. According to Daryl Armstrong, a church administrator and head mechanic for the event, Faith Ministries will check such things as fluid levels, brakes, tire tread depth and air conditioning. If a vehicle is low on fluid, Faith Mission Ministries Inc will provide enough for the driver to get home and to a mechanic.

“We started the Faith Mission Winter Maintenance back when all the soldiers were constantly deploying at Fort Campbell. It left a lot of our families with husbands gone on deployment,” said Armstrong. “We figured it was a way to help them inspect their cars and make sure that they could get through the winter season while their husbands were deployed. It was so successful that we decided to keep it going.”

No vehicles will be excluded from the event, regardless of year or state of repair. Volunteer mechanics will inspect the vehicle and make a list of any repairs that are needed that can be taken to a mechanic.
