CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Owner-operators of McDonald’s in Clarksville recently partnered with Partners in Education and the Clarksville-Montgomery-County School System to provide breakfast for more than 4,213 local teachers and staff at 41 schools and four district offices.
Emily Ellis, who operates the Sango and Madison Street McDonald’s restaurants, said her stores donated about 1,300 sandwiches. She said it feels good to give back to the community.
“We have a lot of employees that have children in the school system, so it gives them pride when we do this,” Ellis said.
Eric Larson, who owns the remaining five McDonald’s locations in Clarksville, said his stores supplied about 3,000 biscuits, which he says was a challenge but was well worth it.
“We’re always happy to help teachers because they are certainly, a lot of times, underappreciated,” Larson said.
“I wish (the teachers) a safe and fun year back in the classrooms, and I want them to know that they have a community supporting them and behind them 100 percent,” Ellis said.
“I appreciate all of the hard work they do; they’re very dedicated. With the challenges in this pandemic, they have done a great job of being nimble and changing,” Larson said.
