Open letter to the Clarksville-Montgomery County community by Joshua Beal and Trisha Butler:
We acknowledge the difficulties COVID-19 has caused in our lives, our community, and our world over the last 18 months. While we understand and appreciate the concerns of our colleagues, you will not find our names on their open letter encouraging our citizens to get vaccinated.
We believe that as elected officials we are not qualified to provide you with health opinions, medical advice, or even to encourage you to either support or oppose vaccinations and the wearing of masks. Simply stated, this should be a decision solely between you and your medical provider. We will continue to support the rights of our citizens and advocate individual responsibility to make educated and informed decisions for themselves and their families. We firmly believe that the best person to decide what’s best for you is you!
Joshua Beal, Montgomery County Commission, District 14
Trisha Butler, Clarksville City Council, Ward 12
