CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Kenwood and West Creek High Schools’ advanced choirs joined voices with soloists from Austin Peay State University and an orchestra of area instrumentalist.

The performance was Friday, Nov. 20, 2015 at Madison Street United Methodist Church for a performance of Schubert’s Magnificat.

Kenwood’s Rebecca Byrd and West Creek’s Blake Gority came up with the event and worked diligently to make it a success. It was the first time the schools have worked together on a community performance like this.

The performance also featured three selections by each school from outside of the title piece, including Wade in the Water, performed by West Creek’s Shades of Gray, and Blessing for the Leaving, performed by the Kenwood High School Advanced Mixed Choir.

The choir directors expressed their gratitude to CMCSS, the School Board and County Commission for their support and also to Madison Street United Methodist for the use of the space.
