CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Two Rivers Lodge 23 and hosted a public fundraiser turkey shoot on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the North Ford Street location.
The intent of the shoot was to raise funds for and awareness of the FOP Lodge’s goal to support police officers and the community. The FOP and its members’ mission is to advocate for law enforcement officers through fellowship, legal defense, benevolence, education, and community outreach.
The hosted turkey shoot consisted a 12-gauge shotgun target shooting at paper targets. All participants bought opportunities to attempt scoring hits closest to the center. Restrictions were placed on caliber of shotgun, choke, and ammunition. Participants had an opportunity to win many varying prizes supplied by members and many sponsors.
Volunteers from the lodge, sponsors, and Trail Life USA Scouts kept the action flowing and kept the event exciting.
“[The]…real success was sharing the FOP with the community and raising awareness of law enforcement,” Lodge president Gordon Beck said.
Planning for next year’s event has already begun and the FOP Two Rivers Lodge looks forward to connecting with many of the same businesses again in this endeavor and continuing to build a positive community and law enforcement relationship.
