CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Tabernacle Church of Montgomery and Stewart counties decided to give back to the community Tuesday, March 13 by surprising residents with free fast food meals.
The church visited the Burger King on Fort Campbell Blvd. in Clarksville and the McDonald’s location in Dover to pay for breakfast for all of the patrons. The effort extended through lunch time at the Clarksville location.
Aron Maberry, staff pastor at The Tabernacle Church, said the congregation has been focusing on the concept of generosity and has encouraged church members to perform random acts of kindness and generosity.
Maberry said he has been impressed by the results.
“From people paying for other’s meals, gift cards being posted on Facebook timelines, to helping people out – we have been blown away and it hit our hearts,” he said. “As a staff we asked ourselves, ‘What can we do to make a greater impact?’ As we looked at the calendar we noticed that Tuesday, March 13 is National Good Samaritan Day. We knew this was our moment!”
