Charlotte, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Child Advocacy Center (CAC) for the 23rd Judicial District needs the public’s assistance.
The Center is running low on toys in their treasure box. The toys are provided to victims of child abuse after a therapy session or forensic interview. The children are allowed to search through the treasure box for a toy to take home.
“Giving toys to the children helps ease an already stressful situation,” said CAC Executive Director Kathryn Norbeck. “The children really look forward to selecting a new toy and that makes them more willing to come back for treatment.”
The 23rd CAC is a place for children who are victims or possible victims of severe physical or sexual child abuse to receive support and therapy. Located in Charlotte, TN, the 23rd CAC services Dickson, Cheatham, Houston, Humphreys and Stewart Counties.
All services provided by the 23rd CAC are free. The Center offers trauma therapy, victim advocacy, and forensic interviews to assist with investigations. Funding comes from grants and donations and the Center operates as a non-profit.
Toy donations can be made Monday – Thursday from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. at 604 Spring Street in Charlotte, TN, 37036.
If you are unable to donate a toy, but would still like to help, please consider donating to the Child Advocacy Center’s Go Fund Me Account.
