CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The family that donated 184 lockers to Northeast High School has now been fully reimbursed by a local business.

Rex and Kendra Hawkins, the owners of Hawkins Homes, reached out to Clarksville Now to see if they could be put in contact with the donors, Cece and Derek Eurales.

Rex Hawkins said that after reading about the locker donation that went wrong, he saw an opportunity to help someone who went out of their way for his alma mater.

After the two sides made contact, Hawkins Homes paid the Eurales family $4,000 to reimburse them for the lockers and their expenses traveling to Arkansas to deliver them. This also saves the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System from a previously discussed $1,200 reimbursement for the lockers themselves.

In appreciation, the Eurales family treated the Hawkinses a home-cooked meal of pulled pork.

“Our family is grateful for the outpouring of support since this story became public,” the Eurales family told Clarksville Now. “Keeping the lockers at Northeast High School was always our goal, and it was made possible by generous contributions from a number of people in the community, with the largest donation coming from Rex Hawkins. Thank you again to everyone who showed concern.”
