CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- (CLARKSVILLENOW) Each year, the Middle Tennessee Council Boy Scouts of America proudly invites scouts and families to join in placing an American flag on the grave of each soldier in the National Cemetery in Madison, TN.
Local Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Sea Scouts, and Venture Scouts will commemorate Memorial Day by placing American flags at the grave sites of American veterans weekend at several locations. The National Cemetery in Madison will have nearly 1,500 scouts and family members placing 35,000 flags, as well as a brief program honoring veterans.
The Memorial Day Flag Placement Ceremonies are set for Saturday, May 27.
Events will also be held at:
• Resthaven Cemetery at 7:30 a.m. and Greenwood Cemetery at 8 a.m. in Clarksville
• Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram at 8:00 a.m.
• Elmwood and Memorial Cemeteries in Springfield at 7:00 a.m.
• Stones River National Battlefield Cemetery in Murfreesboro 17 10:00 a.m.
