CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Storm Sims is a local business owner, personal trainer, retired soldier, and a ninja. He will be traveling to Prior Lake, MN on July 26 to compete in the United Ninja Athlete Association (UNAA) World Championship event.

In May, Storm competed in the State Games of America Ninja Challenge Championships. There he qualified for the UNAA World Championship.

Sims will be competing against athletes from around the world in a timed obstacle course. Divisions include: Amateur Men and Women, Kids (9U, 11U, 13U, 15U), Pro Men and Women, and Over 40.

According to the UNAA site there will be a Prelim and Final round of competition. Competitors must successfully complete the course while the clock runs continuously for the duration of their run. Scoring is done by a points and timing system.

Top 10 in each class move on to the finals.  There will be 140 athletes competing in the final round. Fastest and furthest wins.

About Sims

Since the age of 16, Sims has trained other people in athletic feats. While in Clarksville, he has taught a variety of activities including boxing, Crossfit, and parkour.

Sims is a veteran of 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), serving 28 years in the U.S. military.

Sims has been actively involved in the fitness community since retiring from the Army in 1996. In 2018, Sims and others launched Total Obstacle Fitness Center in Clarksville.

Parkour and non-traditional fitness has been a focus for Sims. Many pieces at his gym are built custom obstacles. Sims often uses the gym and set-ups similar while training for UNAA.
