Local American Revolution organizations reading Declaration of Independence July 3

The Captain William Edmiston Chapter of the DAR and the Valentine Sevier Chapter of the SAR are pleased to sponsor this year's reading of the Declaration of Independence.

Clarksville NowTwo local American Revolution organizations are sponsoring an upcoming reading of the Declaration of Independence.

CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Captain William Edmiston Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Valentine Sevier Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution are pleased to sponsor the reading of the Declaration of Independence to the city of Clarksville.

The July 3 reading will take place at the Montgomery County Courthouse at 9 a.m. In addition to the reading of the Declaration, the national anthem will be sung, and a musket and cannon salute will be conducted.

Both the DAR and the SAR are Clarksville-based organizations and are designed to preserve the memory of men and women who fought or gave service during the American Revolutionary War.
