CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Loaves and Fishes in Clarksville has announced their 6th Annual “Jingle Bell Food Drive” for the holiday season. The food drive is going on throughout the months of November and December.

The first event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3.

Churches, businesses, schools, civic groups as well as individuals are asked to organize their own food drives to collect food and other items which will help feed the over 200 people Loaves and Fishes serves each day, Monday through Saturday.

“The Jingle Bell Food Drive allows Loaves & Fishes an opportunity to pinpoint what items we need to continue our mission in the community,” Loaves & Fishes Board Chairman Tamara Long said.

Long said the generosity of the public and business partners helped them to provide food to approximately 120,000 neighbors in need during 2017 through meals and food pantries. The organization is also kicking off its Capital Campaign on November 10. For more visit LoavesFishesCampaign.org.

The Jingle Bell Food Truck along with volunteers will be parked at various food stores in Clarksville-Montgomery County on Saturdays in November and December. As you shop for your groceries this season don’t forget to think about those who are hungry and homeless.

Canned, bottled or boxed goods, soup, pasta, salad dressings, of all varieties are being accepted. Along with food, things like paper towels, trash bags, soap, detergent and other household items are also very useful. If you prefer, monetary donations can also be made which helps the mission of Loaves & Fishes.

Loaves & Fishes will be glad to pick up your donations, or you can drop them off 215 Foster Street, from 8 a.m.-Noon Monday-Saturday. Loaves and Fishes is located at the First Presbyterian Church Activities and Outreach Center (215 Foster Street).
