CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Loaves & Fishes recently hosted its Ladies Tea Party fundraising event for their Capital Campaign, “New Move, New Vision” for a new facility to help feed the hungry in Clarksville-Montgomery County.

Around 60 people participated and enjoyed an afternoon with a live auction and music.

Loaves & Fishes board member Jill Crow said at this point the organization has raised $1.1 million and community support is needed to reach their goal of $1.5 million. The money will be used to build a larger facility to offer more services for those in need.

Speaking to the group, Chairman of the Loaves & Fishes Board, Tamara Long, said in 2018 close to 50,000 meals were served and they are on track to exceed that number this year. As of the end of March over 12,000 meals have been served at the Loaves & Fishes site at the First Presbyterian Church Activities Building on Foster Street.

Loaves & Fishes has acquired six acres of land with plans for a 13,000 square foot facility. For more on the Capital Campaign visit LoavesFishesCampaign.org.
