CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Living Word International Ministries of Clarksville (LWIM-C) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a College Prep Day on October 22.
The event, which will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the church’s location at 959 Tiny Town Road, is free and open to the public.
Living Word’s College Prep Day is more than the typical college fair, as it will offer a broad range of resources that will cater to more than just high school students. The communitywide event will provide middle school students, high school students and their parents with valuable information about various colleges, scholarship opportunities and other important education-related topics.
“Our goal is to not only share information about various colleges and universities in the area, but to also present early-planning resources that can help parents fund their student’s education”, said Pastor Richard Woodson, Jr.
This is the first time Living Word will host a College Prep Day for the entire Clarksville community. The upcoming College Prep Day is taking a much broader scope: It will bring together participants and an array of resources from the entire area in an effort to inform and inspire youth, as well as parents. The event will feature:
representatives from area colleges and universities
strategies for maximizing scholarships and other financial aid
details about educational benefits available from the military
helpful educational resources
light refreshments
College Prep Day exemplifies the type of ongoing outreach efforts that Living Word maintains in the community and abroad. Recently, the church launched its Operation Warm Coats and Operation Christmas Child, which provide resources for children in Clarksville and elsewhere. Living Word also supports community service organizations such as Manna Café and Loaves & Fishes, as well as a monthly nursing home visits, an annual Thanksgiving Meals on Wheels program, overseas missionary trips, and other life-altering ministries.
Living Word International Ministries-Clarksville is a 501(c) (3) organization that is committed to serving the community as “the church that loves God through loving others.” The church was established in 2004 as Reconciliation Evangelistic Outreach Center (REOC) by Overseer/Senior Pastor Richard Woodson, Jr. and Lady (Elder) Sherry Woodson. Today, Living Word is a church where the love of God and life-changing power of the Holy Spirit are at work in the lives of its multi-cultural family of believers.
