CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) There is a very special lady, Lisa Sagley, who is being recognized as 5 Star Media Group’s Hometown Hero for July. Sagley, who works at Fort Campbell, volunteers with the Humane Society in Dover, TN.
Sagley talked about her being chosen as the very first Hometown Hero. “I don’t see myself as a hero, what we do is very much a labor of love,” said Sagley. She was nominated by friends and volunteers who work with her rescuing animals.
Talking about helping animals, Sagely emphasized that it was amazing the way that volunteers in Houston County, Montgomery County, Fort Campbell and other local agencies, all of whom she has worked with, are coming together to find forever homes for dogs and cats.
Sagley thanked the sponsors, donors and everyone involved with the Hometown Hero program as well as all those who voted for her. She had a very special thank you to Manny Matos who nominated her.
Nominations for the Hometown Hero for August are going on now through August 14 with voting to determine the final winner taking place August 15-August 28. A $400 monthly prize is given to the Hometown Hero with the most votes.
