CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) LG Electronics hosted an informational event Wednesday at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center. Close to 350 people were welcomed by LG staff members along with Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett.
It was not a job fair but more of a chance for those interested in working at LG to learn more about employee positions including line assemblers, press operators, paint line operators, maintenance, injection mold operators, leads and other professional opportunities.
Starting in the fourth quarter of this year the factory will begin producing front and top-loading washing machines and will be able to produce a fully assembled washer every ten seconds. The 310-acre site offers the potential to expand for production of other home appliances.
“Everybody applies online, from there it goes through our system and we review all of the applications and we hire the best person qualified for the job,” Michael Benjamin, Senior Director of Human Resources for LG said.
Benjamin said the company plans to hold job fairs in May and again in July with hiring taking place in the third quarter. Applicants can view current job opportunities and apply at www.lg.jobs and www.jobs4tn.gov.
Another LG Informational Event is scheduled for Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. There was a drawing for a free LG washer which was given away at the morning event to Kevin Addley and another washer will be give away during the afternoon event.
