Jimmy Brown, who is running for City Council, Ward 11, received two endorsements this week from former County Commission colleagues.
David Harper, Montgomery County commissioner:
I have had the opportunity to develop a friendship over the last several years with Jimmy Brown, and in the course of that friendship, I have discovered a person that cares deeply about the City of Clarksville.
Jimmy has an advantage that no others have that are running for City Council. That advantage is his intimate knowledge of infrastructure and roadways in our city. As a result of his occupation with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, he is an expert on all of our local streets and highways. He knows where the problem areas are, and he knows what to do about them. As a result of this, he is equipped to succeed from day one. If you agree with me that our roadways are a great concern, then you can see why I support Jimmy.
He is a fiscal conservative like myself and understands that rather than throwing money at problems to solve them, he will do the hard work to understand the real issue and come up with solutions that will work and not cause unintended consequences. Locally, we have elected candidates that say all the right things and then seem to forget all of that when they face their first vote.
I have great confidence that Jimmy will represent the taxpayers of Ward 11 in a highly ethical manner. Please join me in supporting Jimmy Brown for Ward 11!
Tommy Vallejos, former Montgomery County commissioner:
I’ve known Jimmy Brown personally and professionally for nearly a decade. I have seen firsthand his dedication to the safety and welfare of Clarksville and Montgomery County. As a sergeant with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, he knows the problems our community faces, especially when it comes to crime and roads. He knows what areas in our city need the most attention and has the knowledge to fix it.
I also know he is a Godly family man. He currently serves as a deacon at his church. He is the definition of a servant leader. He will take the time to listen to the concerns and serve the residents in his ward.
All of these qualities will make him an excellent city councilperson, and for that reason I am endorsing him for City Council Ward 11.
