Contributed commentary by Robert Navarro unfinished TDOT highway striping of Fort Campbell Boulevard:
It has been several months since the Tennessee Department of Transportation repaved U.S. Highway 41A (Fort Campbell Boulevard) and the striping still hasn’t been completed. They do have light striping, but it is not the thermal plastic reflective paint. The problem is at night, especially when raining, you cannot see the stripes at all, and it is very dangerous.
Someone had told me they were driving down the road and could not see the lines so she decided to follow the car in front of her. When they finally got to an area where you could see, the car in front was completely out of the lane.
I don’t know if it is a financial issue or what the delay is, but it needs to be done before someone gets injured or killed. Then I’m sure TDOT will be facing a lawsuit which will cost the state even more money in the long run. Seems that the planning of the repaving with the striping was not thought out too well.
