Contributed commentary from Doug Englen, former state Senate candidate:
Just when I thought 33 years of military experience in the Special Ops world serving at the highest level would teach me to understand people and their values, I was wrong. My six-month political campaign after retirement exposed the civic conservative values by which leaders of our community should follow. Yes, those conservative values based on the way we should be serving the Lord.
It is tough to find transparent rising leaders and servants with today’s social media resources and advertisements (true competencies). Look no further, Adam Walker will support your Christian way of life as your next City Council member in Ward 12.
My instinct is to evaluate veterans that are on the ballot with a higher level of confidence. But, when I witness a degree of confidence, competence and cognitive ability to understand problem-solving like in Adam, I cannot ignore potential that Clarksville will benefit.
Furthest and foremost, please get out this November and vote. Adam will represent us well in this wonderful city we call home. He will approach fiscal challenges that are upon us due to irresponsible spending and COVID-19. Adam will vote with respect to way of life that all citizens of Clarksville desire (respect, infrastructure, military values, small business, self-defense and law enforcement).
Vote Republican, vote conservative, vote to keep our rights that have been given to us by the mighty king. Vote for Adam Walker.
Doug Englen
