Contributed commentary from Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett:

I am honored to offer my endorsement of Rep. Jason Hodges for re-election to the Tennessee House of Representatives for District 67.

Rep. Hodges was elected to the Montgomery County Commission in 2014, the same year I was elected Mayor. I immediately saw his passion to do the right thing in every circumstance and his heart for the people. He took that same compassion and heart to our state legislature two years ago. Although we miss him as commissioner, he is doing great things for the people of Montgomery County at the state level.

I have personally seen him become involved with individuals that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, leading them through the process of filing for benefits and actually serving as personal liaison to those individuals and state offices. Rep. Hodges did not care where they lived or what party they were associated with, he just offered help and delivered. He has also worked extremely hard supporting public education, veteran issues and access to healthcare the last two years.

Jason and his wife, Diana are true public servants. In my opinion they have earned the right to serve another term in the Tennessee General Assembly and I kindly ask you to support Jason Hodges for re-election to the Tennessee House of Representatives for District 67.

Jim Durrett, Montgomery County Mayor
