CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands is hosting an Expungement Event on Saturday, April 1 at the First Presbyterian Church Activities and Outreach Center.

The location is at 215 Foster St. next to Loaves & Fishes and will begin at 9 a.m. Expungement is erasing or removing a charge or a conviction from your record. This event is for charges filed in Montgomery County, Tennessee only and volunteer attorneys will be on hand to offer free assistance.

Representatives from the Montgomery County Clerk’s Office will also be there along with judges to sign and finalize your request for if your case qualifies for expungement. You may also be eligible for a fee waiver.

To apply for a fee waiver, please bring proof of employment along with a list of assets, income and expenses. The Expungement Event is brought to you by First Presbyterian Church, the Legal Aid Society and independent attorneys.

You must pre-register for the Expungement Event on April 1, and you will need the following information to register.

• Name, date of birth, and social security number of the defendant.
• Approximate date of offense.
• Court docket number, if possible
• General Sessions or Circuit Court Judge
