CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – As the program enters its 32nd year, Leadership Clarksville announces those leaders who have been selected for the Class of 2019.
Leadership Clarksville empowers and connects leaders to strengthen and transform the community. In monthly full-day sessions that include site visits, presentations and dialogues with key decision makers, participants get a behind- the- scenes look at how Clarksville/Montgomery County works.
“Our primary purpose is to create a better community and our graduates-who represent all sectors of the community-are challenged and inspired to make Clarksville/Montgomery County a better place to live, do business, raise families and envision a brighter future for all,” Carole Dorris, executive director said of the program.

The program year will begin with the Orientation Retreat on September 27 and 28, chaired by Charlie Koon ’08 and Geoff Livingston ‘08. During the retreat, the participants will bond with one another through interpretations of the Myers/Briggs test and by physical exercises at a ropes course given by Adventureworks in Kingston Springs, Tennessee.
Following the retreat, the selected class members will begin their monthly sessions by participating in a series of seminars, lectures, group discussions, and field trips which will address area government, education, the military, criminal justice, human services, health care, religion and quality of life. The program requires approximately one workday per month from its beginning in September through graduation in May.
