NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The lawyer who represents a man charged in the disappearance and murder of Holly Bobo has been suspended for two years.

John Herbison, who represents Jason Autry, is accused of taking a non-refundable fee but not completing the work.

According to the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility, the two-year suspension comes with a 60-day active suspension, which means Herbison cannot practice law for 60 days.

After those 60 days are up and once the fee is paid back, Herbison can practice law within that 2-year suspension time but must have a monitor observe his work.

Along with representing Autry, who is one of three men accusing of kidnapping and killing Holly Bobo in 2011, Herbison used to represent Brandon Vandenburg, one of four men accused of raping an unconscious student in a Vanderbilt University dorm room in June 2013.

Herbison’s former partner, Fletcher Long, who also once represented both Autry and Vandenburg, was disbarred last fall after he was found guilty of extorting a client.
