A Celebration of Life service for LaVerne Batson Davis, age 100, of Clarksville, TN, will be Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home.
Rev. Bill Graham will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, James O. Davis. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
LaVerne was born on April 30, 1924, in Clarksville, to Vernon and Katherine Batson. LaVerne was a teacher and a member of First Baptist Church Clarksville. She loved flower gardening, writing, reading, and sewing.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Mary Nola McCurd, Billie Batson, and Jewel Batson. LaVerne is survived by her children, Ann Sleigh and her husband John, and James “Richard” Davis and his wife Brenda; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
