The museum offers an average of thirty temporary shows each year, and the current ones feature a variety of styles and subject matter. Exhibits Curator, Terri Jordan, states “We are thrilled to bring such a variety of work from professional, award-winning, and, in some cases nationally recognized artists to our community. The Orgain Gallery houses an invitational show titled In the Garden. This group of Tennessee women artists offers a variety of interpretations on the themed subject in mixed media and photography; as well as, traditional paints. Lush flowers, bold colors, and familiar subjects fill the walls.

Two contemporary realists round out the shows. Artist Lynn Garwood’s bold, acrylic paintings are on view in the Planters Bank Peg Harvill Gallery. A contemporary realist, Lynn is inspired by the every day objects found lingering around her Wisconsin homestead. Garwood’s show The Quiet Stage features vintage trucks, gas pumps, and bikes that fill the space with an easy sense of nostalgia. Denise Stewart Sanabria shares her artistic love of sweets in the exhibit Food as Muse. Large delightful donuts and marshmallow peeps great viewers in the museum’s Bruner Gallery.
