Larry Wayne Hodge passed away peacefully on January 4, 2016, at the age of 55.

He was born in Smyrna, TN, to Carolyn Gail Arflack and the late LTC Larry Gene Hodge. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Michelle Dallas Hodge; sons, Zachary Hodge of Zurich, Switzerland and Travis Hodge of Clarksville, TN; sister, Melinda Hodge of Clarksville, TN; brother David (Desiree) Hodge of Hendersonville, TN; and his cherished nieces and nephews.

Larry grew up the proud son of two loving parents, who traveled the world serving in the US Air Force. One of his fondest memories was working with his father in the Boy Scouts, where he became an Eagle Scout. He later graduated from Jacksonville High School (Jacksonville, AR) in 1978. Soon after, the family settled in Clarksville. He was a 30-year veteran of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, where he served for 20 years as an investigator. Larry loved to chat about current events, history, sport, and ‘sometimes’ politics. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and spending time with his sons – whether coaching their little league games or working around the house.

Larry was very much beloved by family and friends. He will always be remembered for his curious mind, generous heart, warm smile, and huge hugs. He was a true family man, who took great pleasure in spending time with his family. The dinner table will never be the same.

Funeral service will be held Friday, January 8, at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Lannom officiating. Burial will follow, at 2:00 PM, at Mapleview Cemetery, in Marion, KY. Visitation will be Thursday, January 7, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and Friday, January 8, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203.
