Larry E. Springfield, age 68, of Clarksville, TN, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Tennova Healthcare.
Larry was born April 10, 1948, in Sebree, KY, to the late Herbert Springfield and Mildred Vivian Orrick Springfield. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Herbert “Herbie” Springfield and sister, Carolyn Salerno.
Mr. Springfield was a brick and block mason. He was a US Army veteran, a member of VFW Post 4895, and a member of American Legion Post 7, where he was an adjutant.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 21, at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Pastor Jimmy Terry and Chaplain Chuck Clark of VFW Post 4895 officiating. Visitation will be Friday, May 20, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, and Saturday, May 21, from 11:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
Committal service will be held Monday, May 23, at 11:00 AM, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, in Hopkinsville.
Larry is survived by his wife, Linda Wall Springfield; two daughters, Melissa Ann Springfield and Stephanie Springfield (Brent) Steward, both of Clarksville; one brother, David Joe Springfield; three sisters, Regina Springfield (Gene) Eades of Buchanan, TN, Patricia Springfield of Adams, TN, and Andrea Springfield (Darin) Rose of Clarksville; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Roger Duprey, Fulton Wilson, Mike Wilson, Dennis Weatherholtz, George Steward, Jr., and Walter VanHousen. Honorary pallbearers will be Dillon Conner, Trever Patrick, and Wesley Steward.
