CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Described as the largest and most opulent riverboat in the world, the American Queen has docked on the shores of the Cumberland River at the McGregor Park Riverwalk in Clarksville. Passengers on the boat toured local sites including Smith-Trahern Mansion, Customs House Museum, Fort Defiance, Trinity Episcopal Church and Franklin Street.

The local tours of the city are organized by Visit Clarksville and the Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department. Two motor coaches also travel with the riverboat and transport passengers to other locations near Clarksville. The American Queen departs Clarksville Tuesday with the riverboat’s next stop in Dover, Tennessee which includes a tour of Fort Donelson.

The American Queen is a steam-powered paddlewheel riverboat built in 1995 featuring 6 passenger decks, 218 staterooms and suites, a crew of 172, and the boat has room for 432 passengers.
