CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A large brush fire was reported on the 600 block of Vaughan Rd. off Hwy 76 (Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway) Tuesday.
Deputy Fire Chief Ray Williams said the call came in shortly after 2 p.m. The fire spread to the woods behind a house and was headed toward the Super 8 motel near Exit 11.
Williams said there were no reports of any structural damage or injuries.
Firefighters were still in the area as of 3:15 p.m. but the blaze was mostly under control.
“It was a little bit out of control,” Williams said. “Three fire trucks were out there, and we sent two different brush trucks that are better off-road.”
No further information is available. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
