CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will close lanes of travel on State Route 13 (Wilma Rudolph Boulevard) in Clarksville during a series of lane closures for paving operations.
The work zone will extend from Fairview Lane, south of the intersection of SR 374 (101st Airborne Division Parkway), to Fairbrook Place, south of I-24 Exit 4. This work will require several scheduled lane closures between now and September 30, 2015. The first series of lane closures are as follows.
Monday, September 14 through Friday, September 18, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The lane closures will allow crews to remove the 10- to 12-year-old surface and repave all seven lanes along the two-mile stretch. During paving operations, motorists should be aware and cautious of the work zone and the milled surface.
This operation will likely create significant traffic delays. Portable message boards will alert motorists to the lane closures. Local law enforcement will also be on-site to assist with traffic. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and avoid the area during the expected lane closures if possible.
All scheduled closures are weather dependent. Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances prevent work from occurring as scheduled, it will be rescheduled.
The $1 million project is expected to be completed by September 30, 2015.
