CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – With a talent and a desire to build things as a kid, combined with training and schooling over the years in construction as a young man, veteran Brian Davis said he joined the Army as a carpentry and masonry specialist. Today, he is the proud owner of Davis Landscape and Property Renovations.
During his 21 years in the military, Davis served as a quartermaster, scout, and as a drill sergeant instructor. Davis was medically retired from the Army with his last active-duty station at Fort Campbell.
Over the next several years, Davis worked with the Tennessee Department of Corrections, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, and then moved to the Nashville Metro Juvenile Warrants Division. Davis was still serving with Metro Nashville when he began his mowing and landscape business six years ago.
He had some advice for other veterans thinking about starting a business. “Talk to other people who have businesses, that would be the best thing I could tell people, and talk to several people,” Davis said.
Along with the landscaping and groundskeeping, Davis still liked to build things, so shortly after he began the business, he added remodeling and renovation services.
“We do landscaping and groundskeeping, which includes both residential and commercial for everything we do. On the construction side, pretty much everything inside the house. The only thing we don’t do is advanced electrical,” Davis said.
Work provided outside the home includes the lawn, such as cutting, edging of cement, string line trimming of all lawn areas and blowing off all driveways and sidewalks. Inside the home, services include general maintenance, drywall repair, painting, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, kitchen and bath remodels.
Davis Landscape and Property Renovations is licensed, bonded and insured, and is a member of the Better Business Bureau.
