CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Local 8-year-old Story Smith partnered with Krispy Kreme to give out 360 donuts to local police precincts to show appreciation.
After learning about the recent deaths of police officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge, Story decided she was going to do something. She wrote letters to different companies asking for their help in showing appreciation to the Clarksville Police Department. Krispy Kreme responded and gave Story 360 donuts to pass out to the different precincts.
Story’s father, A.J. Smith, was proud of his daughter. “Story has a giving heart, and always wants to help people,” he said.
The officers at the first police precinct she visited were so appreciative of Story that they gave her a tour. Story said she was able to sit in a police vehicle and see where everyone worked.
“It gives me a good feeling inside to do something nice for them,” Story said. Her hope is that others will take the example and spread love and kindness instead of hate.
