CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Korean American Association of Clarksville held its Lunar New Year Celebration on Saturday, Feb. 10. Close to 400 people attended the event at the Morgan University Center on the Austin Peay State University Campus.

Each year the event is an opportunity for elected officials, Korean businesses and industry leaders, and local citizens to celebrate the Korean New Year. Bobby Brooks, who is a former Korean American Association leader and the first President of the organization, spoke with Clarksville Now about the celebration.

“It is to celebrate the new year and bring the City of Clarksville and the Korean community together, so people can meet and get to know each other better,” Brooks said. The evening featured traditional Korean food, along with singing, dancing and recognition of local Korean industry, business and educational leaders.”
