CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Hilldale Kiwanis have announced a new event for the community that virtually anyone can enjoy. The Hilldale Kiwanis Half-K is a tongue-in-cheek take on the traditional road race, and the exact opposite of an endurance event.
The organization encourages participants to, “join your fellow underachievers for a day (actually more like 10 minutes) of glory”.
The inaugural event will be April 4 beginning at 9:00 am in Downtown Clarksville. Participants will start at Public Square and move downtown headed towards the Downtown Commons.
Registration is $25 and includes a t-shirt. The Downtown Commons will also have live entertainment and vendors at the finish line.
The light-hearted event was created to raise awareness and money for another non-profit organization, Love On Wheels.
Love on Wheels provides suitcases filled with basic necessities to children in the foster care program. Many times these children have only a simple trash bag filled with few personal items that they carry with them.
For more information on the event, and to register, visit the Hilldale Kiwanis website.
