CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Kirkwood High Athletic Director Joshua Stoeckl announced on Wednesday, Cobras girls’ basketball coach Chris Carney has resigned from his position to pursue another coaching opportunity.
“We appreciate the work Coach Carney has done with our basketball program and for the support he has given to our students and community in our first year,” Stoeckl said in a news release.
In the one season he coached the Cobras, Carney compiled a record of 6-21 and finished as the fifth overall seed in district 13-4A. Kirkwood High girls’ basketball enjoyed some postseason success this season when they earned the program’s first playoff victory in the district play in game against Northeast High School.
Kirkwood High Athletics will now begin the search for their second girls’ basketball coach in program history.
