Clarksville, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Kirkwood High freshman outfielder Kiara Conley has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following her performance in the Cobras games during the week of March 31. Conley had 12 hits with a batting average of .800 during that week.

The freshman outfielder hit safely in 12 out of her 15 plate appearances, which included two 3-hit games against John Paul II and Stewart County. She also stole three bases last week. Over the course of the games played, Conley did everything that was asked of her and Cobras head coach Kelli Storz said she’s excited to watch her freshman grow over the next four years.

“Kiara is a very talented young lady,” said Storz. “She is a true utility player who has added a spark to our offense and defense.  To see her ability and softball IQ as just a freshman is exciting for our program.  Looking forward to seeing her grow over the next 4 years.”

As for Conley, she said being named Player of the Week is an honor, but it’s also a reflection of the hard work of her teammates and coaches put in every day. “I couldn’t do it without them pushing me to my best.  I am grateful for the recognition and excited to keep improving throughout the next 4 years,” Conley said.
