CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Kirkwood Cobras hosted the Bartlett Panthers for Kirkwood’s first playoff game in school history. While the Cobra’s struck first on a Moses Byrd touchdown, the Panthers scored 44 unanswered, and ended Kirkwood’s historic season, 44-7.

The Cobras got the ball first, and started fast, with a 50 yard rush from Joisah Claybrooks setting them up in the red zone, where Miles Reding found Moses Byrd for the score. However, Bartlett adjusted, and those were the only points Kirkwood scored for the game.

“Bartlett has a really good team, credit to them,” said Watson. “They adjusted their scheme and took away what we were doing well. Our kids played hard but just couldn’t execute, and I think a lot of that had to do with Bartlett.”

The Cobras went on to lose 44-7, ending there season while Bartlett advances to face Houston next week.

For the Cobras and coach Watson, it was a year of growth, and raising the standard. “Our kids fought hard all year,” said Watson. “They got in the weight room, bought into our process, and we went from five wins to eight. I couldn’t be prouder of them.”
