Montgomery County Trustee Kimberly Wiggins, elected in August 2018, has announced she is running for re-election.

As Trustee, Wiggins acts as the county’s treasurer, collecting county revenue, investing idle dollars and managing a team of 10. She also administers the state-funded Tax Relief Program to help to qualify elderly, disabled and veteran citizens with property tax relief.

Prior to serving as Trustee, Wiggins was a small-business owner, banker and wealth manager.

Along with her husband, retired Army Master Sgt. O’Neal Wiggins, she co-founded Wiggins Medical Transit, a local business that provides transportation to medical appointments and family outings for the elderly and disabled. In 2011, she earned a Master of Business Administration from Bethel University.

Since her election, the Trustee’s Office has received accolades for transparency and accountability, with improved security and audit procedures, a partnership with the City of Clarksville to simplify the property tax process and no audit findings from the State Comptroller’s Office. Recently, her fellow Trustees elected her president of the Middle Tennessee Trustee Association.

Wiggins is immediate past president of the Rotary Club of Clarksville and earned the Paul Harris Fellow Plus 2 designation. She serves on the board of the Wade Bourne Nature Center Foundation, Blue Star Families, APSU Center of Excellence for Creative Arts (president), Roxy Regional Theatre, and the Tennessee Association of Property Tax Professionals. She is a graduate of Leadership Clarksville 2018, Leadership CMCSS 2018, and Leadership Middle Tennessee 2020.

She is a member of St. Bethlehem Christian Church, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and The Music City Chapter of The Links Inc.

She is running as an independent.

“I am running for re-election because we must continue with honest, experienced and accessible leadership in the Trustee’s Office,” Wiggins said. “There is still more to be done in service to the citizens of Montgomery County.”
