CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Gov. Bill Lee this week announced three judicial appointments, including Kimberly Lund in Clarksville to a newly created chancellor position for Montgomery and Robertson counties.

“I am proud to announce the appointment of these highly qualified individuals and value the significant experience they will bring to their respective roles,” Lee said in a news release. “I appreciate their leadership and am confident they will serve Tennesseans with integrity.”

Lund currently serves as an assistant district attorney for the 19th Judicial District. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Kentucky and juris doctor at Michigan State University College of Law.

This is a new, second chancellor position for the 19th Judicial District, which includes Montgomery and Robertson counties. The other seat is held by Chancellor Ben Dean.

There were only two applicants who applied by the deadline, according to state records: Christina McKinney Bartee, an attorney with Batson Nolan and city attorney for Springfield; and Tracy P. Knight, a Clarksville attorney with Mitchell, Ross, Rocconi and McMillan.

However, under state law, the governor can fill the vacancy with any person qualified to serve, and he named Lund to the position.

She will be sworn in Monday at 8:15 a.m. at the Montgomery County Courts Center in Judge Robert Goodman’s courtroom, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
