CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) Santa took time out of his busy schedule to have breakfast with children from the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville program on Saturday.
Children – or “Littles” – enrolled in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program came with their mentors – called “Bigs” – to enjoy breakfast, crafts and pictures with the jolly old elf at the party, hosted by the Courtyard Marriott.
Thanks to a donation from County Mayor Jim Durrett, The Two Rivers Company and Downtown Commons, each match also received a ticket to try ice skating at the seasonal rink set up downtown.
Big Brothers Big Sisters pairs youth facing adversity with adults from the community who spend one-to-one time with them, building a relationship and building their potential. The “Matches” meet two to four times a month doing things they both enjoy.
BBBS currently has 50 active matches, but also has a list of 75 children waiting for a mentor. Visit www.bbbsclarksville.org to learn more, become involved or support the agency.
