CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) – Kenwood picked up their first win of the season Friday night against Montgomery Central.
The game was scoreless in the first quarter. In the second quarter Kenwood defensive back Aquantis Saunders caught a interception and ran it back for a touchdown.
At halftime the score was 6-0.
The game was filled with penalties and turnovers. Kenwood was led by freshman quarterback Anthony Smith and Montgomery Central’s senior quarterback Madison Murphy was out with a knee injury.
In the fourth quarter Anthony Smith threw a bomb down the sideline to Caleb McQueen and he was tackled at the one yard line. On the next play #2 Donte’ Mayberry ran it in for a touchdown.
The final score of the game was Kenwood 12 vs Montgomery Central 0.
Kenwood plays Northeast next week at home and Montgomery Central goes on the road to Portland.
