CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Five students in the STEM Academy at Kenwood High School will present at the annual Tennessee Junior Academy of Science meeting at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee on April 21.
Only 25 students from across the state were selected to present at the meeting. If students win, their paper will be published and will receive $500.
The students presenting will be Tyree Boykin, Sahil Goklaney, Kelsey Thornton, Khorey Williams, and Jacob Brack. All of these students have been working on their research and writing their papers as part of their Scientific Research class, taught by the STEM Academy Science Teacher, Megan Pitts.
“Students in the Scientific Research class have worked diligently this school year on completing their research for this senior capstone project. We are very proud of their work and the leadership Mrs. Pitts has provided for them,” said Keith Parker, Assistant Principal.
In addition, students in the class had the opportunity to present at the Middle Tennessee Science and Engineering Fair at Belmont University on March 17. The following students placed at the fair:
