Dickson started the game with the ball and just as they started to push the ball down the field, Kenwood High’s Josiah Brown forced and recovered a fumble as he returned it for a touchdown and the game’s first score.
The Cougars then muffed the ensuing kickoff, allowing Kenwood to set up with great field position. Kenwood quarterback Jacoby Cox then rushed in the Knights second touchdown of the game, which accounted for his first of two touchdowns in the first half. Before the halftime buzzer sounded, Dickson County did respond with a score of their own, but they were down 21-6 going into the third quarter.
“We just played team football,” said Kenwood High head coach Jarhett Snead. “We made mistakes, but we still rallied together. That’s the most important thing we’ve been working on is being a unit, and we finally did that tonight.”

Cam’Ron Dowell started the second half off with a touchdown, scoring on a fourth and one jet sweep. Dickson responded with another touchdown, but that would be their last score of the night. Cox found a wide-open Josiah Brown for a touchdown, and Brown found the endzone again on the next drive to cap off the scoring.
After their 41-13 win, the Knights are now riding a three-game winning streak and have two huge games against Kirkwood and Rossview in their final two weeks of the 2024-25 season. The most important thing? They control their own destiny and can make the playoffs if they win out.
“We just have to hold each other accountable; it’s a big win, but we move forward,” said Snead. “The only thing we can control is our attitude and our effort.”
