CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Kenwood High School senior guard Christian Taylor has won Clarksville Now Player of the Week following his performance in the Knights’ games during the week of Dec. 15-21. Taylor averaged 17 points, eight rebounds, three steals, and one block, and most importantly, three wins in three games for Kenwood.

“This award gives me the eyes to see that I can accomplish anything when I put my trust in God and work hard,” said Taylor. “My teammates and coaches are the real reason I was able to accomplish this award. At the beginning of the season, our team was scared to play, but now that our backs are against the wall, it’s really showing us that it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. Every stat and point is a result of my teammates and coaches; without their belief in me, I wouldn’t be recognized right now. Thank you to all the people who have or continue to believe in me.”

The Knights picked up wins over Chester County, Camden Central, and in-city foe Clarksville High, all by double digits. Taylor’s consistent impact on the floor, including a 25-point double-double performance against the Wildcats, has helped Kenwood to their longest winning streak of the year so far.

“We’re really proud of Taylor’s increased accountability and leadership in response to a disappointing start to the season,” said Kenwood head coach Chase Cronin. “We look forward to continuing to watch the growth of Taylor and his team, and I’m grateful he gets to be recognized under this light. He’s earned it.”
