CADIZ, KY, (CLARKSVILLENOW) – At approximately 8:30 p.m on November 7, Kentucky State Police Post 1 received a call from the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office regarding a two vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of Bypass Road (US 68) and South Road (KY 139) near Cadiz.

Troopers and collision analysts responded to the location. Preliminary investigation suggests Emily Lyons, 20, of Straffordsville, KY was operating a 2003 Volkswagen Beetle, traveling north on South Road with passenger Matthew Cook, 32, of Wittensville, Ky. Jon McGraw, 56, of Cadiz was traveling west on Bypass Road in a 2008 GMC Arcadia. Lyons failed to yield the right of way to McGraw and entered into his path. McGraw was unable to avoid the collision and struck Lyons’ vehicle in the passenger side.

Lyons, McGraw and Cook were all transported by EMS to Trigg County Hospital. Lyons and Cook succumbed to their injuries and were declared deceased at Trigg County Hospital.

KSP Collision Reconstructionist Trooper Michael Robichaud and Sergeant Eric Fields are continuing the investigation. KSP was assisted by the Trigg County Sheriff’s Department, Cadiz Police Department, Trigg County Rescue Squad, Trigg County EMS and the Trigg County Coroner.
